The 2010 edition of the Electrolux Design Lab competition focused on creative solutions for compact living. The brief asked industrial design students to consider how people will live in the homes of 2050. The Amulet is the big brother of a universal remote, controlling electronic devices of all sorts. The device analyzes and processes hand gestures to send signals corresponding to the electronic equipment. Wearing the Amulet on your wrist, you can gesture your lights to turn off, increase the volume of your music system or simply swipe your hands to change channels. Not only that you can
make phone calls, measure weights or even make virtual objects. Imagine, with Amulet every computer becomes a "remote" touch screen..
